Eathouses Lily’s manager admitted the occasion maybe got to his players when they lost 2-0 to Hibernian in Saturday’s final day title decider.
Speaking after their EOS First Division winner-takes-all match at Hibernian’s state-of-the-art training complex David McQueenie told the Advertiser: “I thought the better team won to be honest.
“I think we didn’t play as well as we have played over the season. Maybe the occasion and the surroundings got to us. The weather and size of the pitch didn’t help.
“But it’s a great achievement to take it to the last game against a full-time team.
“I’m disappointed we lost but I’m proud of the players for taking it to the last game.”
