Whitehill Welfare v Civil Service Strollers on Saturday, February 16, at Ferguson Park, Rosewell.

Whitehill welcomed ‘The Strollers’ for their first home match at Ferguson Park since November.

Ryan McGurk returned in goal to replace the injured Darren Walker and with Dayne Robertson suspended, the centre midfield partnership of Kidd and McCulloch continued.

After a lively start, McIntosh taunted the Strollers’ defence, cutting inside and firing a shot which Callan could only parry straight to Steven Manson, who was on hand to smash home his 13th goal of the season to give Whitehill the lead.

Callan was the busier of the keepers and had to look lively to stop a Sommerville free-kick then a Kidd shot after a superb run when the midfielder beat three players but saw his shot saved.

Bruce then came to Whitehill’s rescue with a superb slide tackle in the box to deny Kerr.
