Full house for Carnethy Hill Race

The popularity of the ‘TISO’ Carnethy Five Hill Race shows no sign of waning.

Within hours of the entry line opening at 5pm on Monday, a maximum of 547 athletes had registered to take part. A waiting list is now in operation.

As in previous years, the gruelling six-mile race over the Pentland Hills is expected to attract some healthy competition.

Signed up to race is last year’s winner Tom Owens (Shettleston), who finished in 50 minutes 31 seconds. He will face strong competition from five times winner Rob Jebb (Bingley), who has also entered.
