Gorebridge archer targets glory

A MIDLOTHIAN teenager is targeting success in European competition next week.

Gareth Fleming’s confidence is high as he makes final preparations for the Junior Euronations Archery Festival (August 10-12).

The 17-year-old (pictured), of Powdermill Brae, Gorebridge, believes he has medal chances in both the team and individual events at Athboy Archery Club in Ireland.

Currently ranked as the top junior archer in Scotland, he is determined to realise his international ambitions.

The former St David’s RC High School pupil was disappointed when the recent Junior Home Nations tournament at Lilleshall was cancelled because of bad weather, but he insists a medal is well within his reach at the Euronations.
