A Midlothian teenager made history at the weekend becoming the youngest ever driver to race in the British Touring Car Championships.

Sixth-form George Watson’s College student Aiden Moffat (16) from Dalkeith represented Finesse Motorsports at Knockhill, despite not even having a provisional licence.

Speaking ahead of his big debut Aiden was confident.

He said: “Of course I’m nervous, but if you’re not nervous during something like this you’re probably not going for it enough.

“I just get in the car and drive and don’t think about everything else, like being younger.”
