Hockey - Eskvale fail to find target

Grange 7’s beat Eskvale Hockey Club Men’s XI by 2-1.

Despite dominating the game for long periods Eskvale were unable to find the target and were made to suffer for their profligacy.

Despite the home side scoring two goals in quick succession, there was no drop in Eskvale’s spirits and they continued to press for an opening.

Eventually the ball came to right-midfielder for the day, young Matthew Black just inside the circle. He controlled the ball well and set himself up before calmly slamming the ball into the back of the net.

Eskvale continued to press and were awarded a penalty corner in the dying seconds.

John McCrossan’s low drive was well saved by the Grange keeper, which was immediately followed by the full time whistle.
