Morgan travelled to Lasswade having lost their two opening games but the most recent of these at home against a much tipped GHA side in which they went down by only five points scoring three of the seven tries.
Eight tries were scored at Hawthornden but the home side kept them all to themselves and completed their bounce back from the 40-15 loss at Dumfries last week by ensuring their defence was also score-proof.
With both Wood and Blackwood unavailable, Lasswade were relieved to see both Cook and Borthwick signed off the sick list, the latter allowing Hennessey to move to centre and McWilliam stood in at standoff. Borthwick had been champing at the bit on the sidelines since pre-season and made up for lost time with a man-of-the-match performance.
Conditions overhead and underfoot remained dry but a strong but unusually balmy wind from Rosewell had some influence on the game. Lasswade used the wind to put the visitors under immediate pressure and within three minutes turned over a scrum 10 metres out and Robertson picked from a ruck on the line to claim the opening score.
