Lasswade S2s 17, Melrose S2s 37
On a cold but calm Sunday afternoon, Melrose travelled up to Hawthornden to give the Bonnyrigg boys their second taste of Border rugby.
After a great win against Hawick last week, Lasswade were up for what was to prove to be an interesting contest. As Melrose are one of the top clubs in Scotland, the Hawthornden boys were a bit nervous.
Melrose started the game with a kick deep into the Swade 22. The home side put on the pressure and took the ball well, and made a bit of ground, only to lose possession.
Melrose were looking dangerous and made a great run until Cammy McVicker put in a great tackle to stop Melrose by putting them into touch.
From a Lasswade scrum, which they won, some positive passing saw winger Scott Muir run from the halfway line to score under the posts. Oscar Malone converted.
