Loanhead’s Paton puts engine woes behind him

Midlothian’s leading motorcyclists experienced the highs and lows this sport has to offer.

Over the weekend, Michael Robertson, from Danderhall, was crowned Scottish Champion in the 1000cc superbike class while Loanhead rider David Paton jnr lies in second place in the British Supersport Cup competition.

Paton enjoyed a podium finish at Donnington Park during the 10th round of the British Superbikes Championships.

The young rider had two weekend races. On the Saturday he rode superbly on Mark Middleton’s Yamaha R6 to win four seconds ahead of the leader, who came second.
