Three P6 classmates at Bonnyrigg Primary School have been enjoying their first season playing for Hibs.
Goalkeeper Harris Spratt (10), right midfielder Ben Weekes (11) and centre forward Cameron Kerr (11) joined the club last summer.
Harris’s dad Steve Spratt explained how an SFA scheme has been nurturing the talented youngsters.
He said: “There were five of them from the same class picked out at five years old by the SFA for being skilled. They then trained them for three years.
“When they were eight years old Dalkeith CYP took them on for their eight-a-side team.
“The team did very well and so they had scouts from Rangers, Hibs and Hearts all over them.
“Five of the team, including this three from the same class signed pro youth forms, still aged eight. They couldn’t sign properly with Hibs until they were 10, so this was like a pre-contract.
“They are now currently nearing the end of their 12 month contract, which will be reviewed in June.”
