Bonnyrigg Rose Girls 1999 (U15) January 2014

On a lovely sunny Saturday morning at Lasswade High School 3G Linlithgow and Bonnyrigg Rose under 15s girls’ teams met for the second week running, but this time a place in the League Cup Semi Final was at stake.

Bonnyrigg took an early lead when a corner from Eilidh Morris was flicked on by Amber Scotland and headed into the roof of the net by Aimee Russell.

Linlithgow came more into the game as the half went on and Bonnyrigg keeper Megane Steel pulled off a string of excellent saves to keep the Rose one up. Linlithgow eventually got their deserved equaliser just before half time as the sides went in 1-1 at the interval.

Fairly early in the second half Bonnyrigg went ahead again with a well struck free kick by Bethany Simpson. Before Linlithgow again equalised making it 2-2.

With the visitors looking the more likely to take the lead, Bonnyrigg were lucky enough to be awarded a penalty which was expertly put away by Amber Scotland. The same player then got a second goal chasing down a clearance to put the Rose through to Semi Final next month against Hutchison Vale.

Full time score Bonnyrigg 4 – Linlithgow 2.
