Carnethy Hill Race success for Orlando

Carnethy Five Hill Race 2012

Carnethy Five Hill Race 2012

For the first time in its history, more than 500 runners finished the Carnethy Five Hill Race at the weekend.

A cold but dry day saw a field of 523 finish the race, including 83 runners from the host club, Carnethy.

And it was Orlando Edwards, running for Hunters Bog Trotters, who was to pull away from the pack early in the race to finish in first place. Prasad Prasad came home in second, with five-times winner Rob Jebb in third place.

In the women’s race, it was the familiar figure of Angela Mudge, wearing her traditional number 13, who took top honours, recording her 13th Carnethy win.

Sarah McCormack (Moorfoots) kept in front of Jasmin Paris and Catriona Buchanan (Ochil) to claim the second spot.
