Representing Queen Margaret University Taekwondo Club, brothers Sean and Kyle Christie were among the medals at the recent English Open in Stoke.
Sean Christie (14), who competed in the under 60kg category, won two gold medals, in patterns and sparring at the event.
He told the Advertiser what his friends thought about him taking part in the sport.
He said: “It’s great to have won the two gold medals, really good.
“I love taekwondo, I have been doing it for nearly three years and I want to develop on this success. I hope to get into the national team.
“I’m currently a yellow belt, so I need to build up to a black belt to get in the team.
“My friends think I must be good at fighting because I do taekwondo, but it’s more about discipline than anything else.”
Sean’s brother Kyle Christie (9), has been taking part in the sport for four years, he won silver for sparring in the under 11 years old category.
He added: “It was good to do well. I enjoy taekwondo, it’s good fun.”
