GOLF: Newbattle titles decided
JEFF O'Malley is this year's Newbattle Golf Club champion. The 19-year-old won the final of the club championship last Saturday.
A closely fought 36 hole final was won 5 and 3 against Brian Terrel.
This has been Jeff's best result since reaching the semi final of the Scottish Boys Championship in 2007.
Meanwhile, K W Young beat I Shanks 10 and 8 to clinch the Glencorse Golf Club championship.
B Section champion is D Davidson who beat J Haig 4 and 3 while G Bosnan lifted the C Section title by beating C Markey at the 19th.
Ladies club championship: Mrs A Hanson beat Mrs C Kinnaird 5 and 4.
Ladies bronze section: Mrs S Vyse beat Miss J Browitt 5 and 4.
Junior champion is S Morton who beat D Walker 1 up.
