Light shone on Penicuik Park last week, just over a fortnight since the sudden death of the football club’s physio.
In a fitting tribute to Jeff Gray and the official opening of the Penicuik Park floodlights, everyone was entertained by a classic encounter between Penicuik Athletic and Bonnyrigg Rose.
The large crowd that attended paid tribute to Jeff and also to Councillor Adam Montgomery (Lab) for securing funding for the installation of the floodlights.
In the first half, Bonnyrigg overran a young Penicuik side and three goals in six minutes put them in the driving seat. The second half was a different matter with Penicuik fielding more experienced players and the final score ended 4-3 to Bonnyrigg.
