Loanhead leisure centre is Scotland's No.1
Loanhead Leisure Centre has been awarded a prestigious award from Quest, the UK Quality Scheme for Sport and Leisure, as the best leisure centre in Scotland for customer relations.
Loanhead is already recognised as the highest scoring leisure centre in the region for quality management and has now added best in Scotland for customer relations to its honours following a rigorous independent audit and 'mystery customer' visits.
Councillor Peter Boyes, deputy leader of Midlothian Council and cabinet member for Education and Communities, said: "I am absolutely delighted that the high standards set by the staff team at Loanhead have been recognised by Quest – they've all worked hard to achieve this award.
"And it is wonderful that Loanhead has been recognised as providing the best customer relations in a Scottish leisure centre and that the team has excelled and distinguished itself in this way."
Quest has become the recognised leisure industry standard for the management of sport and leisure facilities throughout the UK and has endorsement and support from SportScotland.
It is based on the concept of continuous improvement, which means that in order to achieve high standards all areas of the leisure centres operations need to be reviewed and improved on a continuous basis. Following a two-day audit at the centre — which was supplemented by 'mystery customer' visits —Loanhead Leisure Centre is now officially recognised as the best in Scotland for customer relations.
