Loanhead Miners YFC leads the way

Loanhead Miners’ Youth Football Club has become the first club in Midlothian to achieve the Community Club honour as part of the Scottish Football Association’s Quality Mark awards.
Peter Frame, the club’s secretary was presented with the award by David Drummond, the Scottish FA’s south east regional manager and David Sheldon, the Scottish FA’s south east regional club development manager.
Mr Frame said: “We are delighted to achieve the Scottish FA Community Club award. It’s a great honour and recognises the commitment the club has to making sure it is the best it can be for the kids in the area.”
The club, which gets support and a grant from Midlothian Council, fulfilled a number of criteria covering management, administration, player and coach development, planning and welfare.
