A minute’s silence was perfectly observed at New Victoria Park last Saturday in respect for former Newtongrange Star committee man Ian Paterson (67), who died om March 20 at St John’s Hospital in Livingston following a long illness.

Ian latterly lived in Addiewell and formerly worked as an mechanic with Eastern Scottish buses and was well known for driving the team to games and his linesman duties among other things over more than 20 years associated with the Star.
