Rachel Law from Penicuik has been selected as one of 16 young people who will help influence and shape the future of sport in Scotland.
The youngsters have been named as the new members of the young people’s sport panel, a national platform which represents the voice of young people in sport throughout the country.
Rachel, a fifth year pupil at Penicuik High School, said: “I am absolutely delighted to have been chosen to be part of the young people’s sport panel and can’t wait to start getting involved in the many projects which are coming up.
“It is such an exciting time to be involved in Scottish sport, so to have the chance to influence and shape its future is a really exciting challenge.
“I am passionate about making a difference as a member of the panel and can’t wait to get started.”
The love of the oval ball runs in Rachel’s family, as her sister Sarah is a current Scotland rugby international.
