Dalkeith RFC clinched the East Region Division Two title with a game to spare on Saturday, with a 47-12 win over Edinburgh Northern.
Dalkeith’s president Stevie Halliday looked back on the season with pride and thanked his coaching staff.
He said: “I’d say that this season has really been a fantastic one for us.
“Hard work and commitment on the training park from way back in June carried on all season has been rewarded with results on the pitch.
“Saturday was a great game for us, after a jittery start we really took control and claimed the title in style.
“Both our first team and second team have only lost one game. And we’re a point away from scoring 1000 points with one game to go.
“It’s a great achievement for the whole club.
“I’d like to thank our coaches Mike Goodman and Harry Graham for all their hard work through the season and a huge congratulations to all the players at Dalkeith for a great season and a well deserved league win.”
