Sparkling start to season for Lasswade athletes

LASSWADE Athletics Club's U-15 girls carried on their fine form from the indoor season into the start of the outdoor season as they recorded some great performances, and collected more medals at the Scottish Closed Championships at Wishaw.

Personal bests were the order of the day, as Katie Purves collected double gold in the 200m and 75m hurdles, improving her PB times to 26.50s and 11.91s respectively.

Ellen Kristofferesen took the silver medal in the high jump with a jump of 1.50m, and also silver in the pole vault (2.30m), and bronze in the 75m hurdles, running a new PB time of 12.55s in her heat.

In the long jump event, Rachel Robertson twice jumped a new PB of 5m as she claimed the silver medal, and also ran a new PB time of 28.12s in her 200m heat.
