Whitehill Welfare finished honours even with Gretna on Saturday when they hosted their final Lowland League fixture of the season.
It was the visitors who started strongly, and with only six minutes gone Lewis Todd found Joe Slattery on the edge of the box and fired an unstoppable left-footed shot into the bottom corner.
Minus their two top scorers with Wayne McIntosh suspended and Aaron Somerville only fit enough to start on the bench, Whitehill weren’t their usual selves.
Slattery was played clean through by Mark Worrall and only a great stop from Bryan Young prevent a goal. On 20 minutes the away side were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box – Sam Atkinson found Worrall who’s effort was blocked on the line and Adam Mains follow up stayed out.
