It started to rain not long before the start to the weekend’s stock car meeting and it was towards the end of the meeting before it stopped.
The track got more slippery by the minute, especially when a car dropped oil, making grip at a premium.
Formula II drivers included Owen Will and from Holland, Giel Kubben, whilst the local driver was Craig Wallace (Tranent).
The saloon drivers were in top form and despite the conditions, there was plenty of bumper work resulting in numerous spins. Local drivers were Scott Chisholm (Dunbar), Chris Carey (Loanhead), Gordon Alexander (Bonnyrigg), Stuart Drobinski (Tranent) and Robin Copland (Gorebridge).
There is no meeting at the Racewall this Saturday, but the formula II drivers are at Barford for their world final. Racing returns to the Racewall on September 15, with the formula IIs racing for the Turner trophy. The meeting starts at 6pm as usual.
