MAX Christie’s Bonnyrigg Rose were closing in on the East Region Super League 2012 title this week following their excellent away 2-0 win at St Andrew’s United on Saturday.

Last night (Wednesday) in the Super League, Bonnyrigg were due to entertain current champions Bo’ness United, who themselves are chasing their third consecutive Super League title, but United stumbled badly on Saturday, losing 4-2 at home to previously relegation-threatened Lochee United .

This Saturday, it’s third top (as at last weekend with games in hand) Bonnyrigg Rose’s final home Super League game of the season at New Dundas Park against second-top Hill o’ Beath whom Rose beat 3-1 at Hill o’ Beath in August in their very first Super League game of this season.

Bo’ness, however, beat Bonnyrigg 3-2 at Bo’ness in December. Second top Hill o’ Beath edged Camelon 1-0 on Saturday at Hill o’ Beath.

Bonnyrigg will also be in action twice next midweek on Monday, May 7, away at Kelty Hearts in the Super League, then Wednesday, May 9, Bonnyrigg will be at home to Bo’ness United, again this time in the Fife and Lothians Cup quarter final.
