A STUNNING performance at New Dundas Park on Saturday saw Super League champions Bonnyrigg begin the defence of their title with some style – sending St Andrews home pointless !

Two goals in each half for the Rose put them on top of the league this week after just one game.

Their first goal came in 23 minutes when Paul Shields was felled in the penalty area by United’s Ryan Dignan, and Kevin McLeish scored from the spot kick – his first of two successful penalties.

The visitors enjoyed some useful possession without really threatening the home defence, as next a McLeish free kick smacked the United post.
