Top local sports stars young and old across many sports were recognised at the annual Midlothian Sports Awards held last Friday.
Provost Joe Wallace presented prizes to the winners who included swimmer Michelle Moran and karate champ Dana Purves.
Among the team winners were Penicuik Athletic who clinched the Premier Division title last season to take their place in the Super League for the first time. Coupled with an impressive run in the Scottish Junior Cup it really has been a year to remember for the Cuikie.
Elsewhere in the awards Badminton coach Colin Leslie picked up the coach of the year award and Steven Costello won volunteer of the year.
Junior Sports Personality winner Dana Purves said she was shocked and delighted to win.
She added: “Especially when I saw who else was in my category. My mum and dad are very proud of me.”
