Greenock Wanderers 12 Lasswade 13
All but one of the seven previous encounters with Greenock have been tight, hard fought battles often in the balance or even decided in the closing minutes but with the Midlothian side the winner in all but the very first.
The exception is the 27-point whitewash by Lasswade at the start of this season when they were going well and Wanderers badly.
The two clubs’ fortunes have evened out since then putting them in the middle of the table, well off the pace, but Lasswade’s away record was just one win from nine so home advantage should have decisive.
As the scoreline suggests this match reverted to type although the visitors dominated both territory and possession for three-quarters of the game, scoring all their points in the first half. A late rally in the last 10 minutes against 14 men brought the hosts within one point.
