Centenary challenge

Lothianburn Golf Club Ladies, who held their first meeting on April 25, 1911, celebrated their Centenary day with a Hickory Challenge on the Pentlands course in Edwardian dress.

Play was over a special course of six holes using hickory clubs kindly made available by Georgian Antiques.

The event will be followed by several other activities during the season arranged by lady captain Hazel Carpenter and her team, including matches against neighbouring clubs and a Calendar Girls Centenary Challenge, whereby the Ladies section will be asked to display their ingenuity and individuality in raising money for this year’s charity, The Poppy Appeal.
