Couple join forces for charity run

IT MAY have been 20 years since Caroline McGregor last laced up her running shoes, but the Garvald mum-of-three has decided to hit the road again to raise money for charity in the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run.

After gentle persuasion from husband Gary, 49, a member of Haddington & East Lothian Pacemakers, the couple are set to reunite on the roads for the first time since Caroline’s last race – the 1991 Falkirk Half Marathon.

In the meantime, the pair have welcomed daughters Evie, 16, and Bethan, 13, and son Conal, 10, into the family.

And to ensure Caroline, who until last summer was a mathematics teacher at Newbattle High School, is fully motivated to beat the clock, Gary hinted the family car may be due for an upgrade.
