There was no shortage of incidents at Cowdenbeath Racewall on a warm and sunny Saturday evening, with the fans certainly entertained by the drivers’ actions.
In the prostox, Grant Weston rolled after hitting the infield tyres, and a couple of laps later, Alan Kirby rolled after a brush with the top bend wall.
There were plenty of shunts, with Robbie Dawson and Charlie Whitfield both ending up with a lot of damage. Tam Meikle was in a big shunt on the opening lap, while Scott Chisholm was sent crashing heavily into the wall.
Local drivers included formula 11’s Ally Noble (Newtongrange),Scott Chisholm (Dunbar) and Stuart Drobinski (Tranent) in the saloons and Tam, Mikey and Keith Melrose (Mayfield), Paul McNulty Jnr (Gorebridge), Dougie Kidd (Dalkeith), Fraser Anderson (Dalkeith) and Tam Ross (Danderhall) in the prostox.
This weekend brings the cars to Knockhill Trioval on Saturday and the Racewall on Sunday, with the MASCARs making their first visit to Scotland. On Saturday at the Trioval, there will be formula IIs, saloons, MASCARs and GP Midgets with the usual start time of 6pm while on Sunday at the Racewall, it’s saloons, stock rods, MASCARs and GP Midgets with the usual 1pm start.
