Dalkeith Tennis Club’s women’s team completed a hat-trick of league titles for the club when they lifted the Division 7B crown last week.

Their 6-3 title showdown victory over Braid 4 in the East of Scotland League on Thursday ensured Dalkeith finished their debut season unbeaten and added to the titles won by both the club’s men’s sides.

In last week’s match Dalkeith edged ahead 2-1 after the first round of matches. Dalkeith led 4-2 after two rounds before Elaine Gray and Sam Fearnley picked up their third win of the night, and the crucial fifth. Meg McDermott and Louise Kirkpatrick also won three times for Dalkeith.

Club President Wendy Macmillan said: “For all three to win their leagues was an amazing achievement and really helps put the club on the map. Hopefully we can continue the good work next season, and that the teams’ success inspires all our members.”
