Midlothian Swimming Club’s Fraser Wilson won five gold medals at the recent East District Championship.

His medal haul at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh makes him the under 12s champion. Fraser also picked up the Andrew Taylor award for the most outstanding swim and set a new 50m freestyle record whilst swimming in the relay.

Other members of Midlothian Swimming Club also swam well with Matt Rietvelt winning silver and Beth McFarlane silver and bronze. Eilidh Redpath picked up three individual bronze medals and Lewis Thomson collected bronze. The boys’ 12 years and under relay team won silver and bronze medals, while the girls’ team won bronze. These results elevated the club to their highest ever position in these championships.
