Fifteen teams from across the world have declared an interest in the Golden Oldies rugby festival in Penicuik this year.

The 20-team tournament, for players over 35, will be hosted by Penicuik RFC, and will take place between September 16 and 18. It has already attracted teams from Mexico, Chile, New Zealand and Argentina.

The programme will see teams registering on September 16, with tours to Rosslyn Chapel and the Scottish Mining Museum. The players, who will live in the area, will attend a welcome event in Penicuik Rugby clubhouse that evening.

Games will be played on September 17 followed by a dinner and awards ceremony. The tournament will conclude with an U-15s mini goldies event on September 18.
