Lasswade Athletics Club athletes have been in fine form recently whilst competing in the Scottish National Athletics Championships held at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena and The Aberdeen Sports Village.
The Ayrshire Athletics Arena was the venue for the Scottish Senior Championships, where Commonwealth Games athlete Greg Louden continued his season’s good form as he took the national title in the Men’s 200 metres.
There was further success in the field events where in difficult conditions for jumpers, Robert Ferguson claimed gold in the Men’s High Jump, and Rachel Robertson silver in the Women’s Triple Jump and also a fourth-place finish in the Long Jump.
The following weekend at Aberdeen Sports Village, the club’s jumpers were again in impressive form, taking three of the U20 national jumps titles. Top performer was Rachel Robertson who won gold in the Women’s Long Jump, before going on to claim a further two silver medals in the 200 metres and the triple jump.
