Midlothian swimmers pick up national medals

Midlothian swimmers were among the medals at the recent Scottish National Age Group Swimming Championships in Aberdeen.

Ria Colbridge, Jamie Ferguson, Jodie Finlay, Katie Golder, Beth McFarlane, Eilidh Redpath, Matt Rietvelt Lewis Thomson and Fraser Wilson, competed at the Aberdeen Sports Village against the top age group swimmers in Scotland, as well as a large contingent travelling from England.

Midlothian Swimming Club head coach Colin Barton was delighted with his swimmers stating that “they all performed extremely well.”

Fraser Wilson claimed four national titles in the 13 year old age group, these being the 50 metre butterfly and all 50,100, 200 metre backstroke events. He also finished second in the 100 metre butterfly, 50 metre freestyle and 100 metre freestyle as well as contesting four other finals.
