Newtongrange boxer Stephen Tiffney missed out on the amateur British Middleweight title on Saturday in Liverpool.
The 26-year-old was beaten in the semi-final on points by England’s Adam Hope - who went on to win Sunday’s final.
Stephen told the Advertiser that he was happy with his performance and is looking to the future: “It was a close fight, I maybe could have done better but I’m not going to dwell on it.
“He won it unanimously with the judges, but watching it back it was a good fight and you can always say I could have done this and that, but I’m happy with how I fought.
“I’m definitely thinking about going professional soon, so hopefully there will be quite big things happening for me.”
