Newtongrange boxer Stephen Tiffney will fight for the British Middleweight title this weekend, just weeks after clinching the Scottish belt.
The 26-year-old heads to Liverpool to fight a semi-final bout on Saturday, for the chance to win the British title in Sunday’s final.
Having won the Scottish title in March with a points victory over Glasgow’s Josh Sanford at the Ravenscraig Sports Complex in Motherwell, Tiffney is now relishing his shot at the British crown.
He said: “You have got to be in it to win it. There is only four of us so I fancy my chances. I’ve been training hard and feel ready for this challenge.”
The Dobbies worker, who trains at Lochend Boxing Club, is hoping to take his career to the next level.
