COLIN WALKER’S fairytale run at the Fred Olsen Cruise Lines World Indoor Championships continued as he beat Robert Paxton in the singles to book a semi-final berth with fellow Scot Paul Foster at Potters Leisure Resort, on the Norfolk coast.
The Pathhead ace, who beat 2010 world champion Greg Harlow in the first round, completed a day of dominance for the Scots at the Hopton-On-Sea resort on Burns Night as he joined Foster, Stewart Anderson and David Gourlay in the last four.
After overcoming Australian Ray Pearse in the second round, Midlothian Club bowler Walker (37), got off to a slow start against Devon’s Paxton, trailing 6-2 after five ends, but then brilliantly got into his stride to win the next four ends to take the first set 7-6.
Walker then stormed into a 5-1 lead in the second set and, despite winning just one of the next six ends, he did just enough to claim another notable scalp and could even afford to drop a two on the final end as he claimed the match 7-6, 7-7.
