The semi-final of the Bowls Scotland Cities and Counties Championship for the Andrew H Hamilton Trophy was held at Dalkeith Bowling Club recently.

Played on Sunday, July 17, the semi-final saw Aberdeen and Kincardine and Ayrshire South go head to head.

John Halliday, treasurer of Dalkeith Bowling Club and Director of Bowls Scotland, said: “This is a national event for a much coveted trophy and Dalkeith Bowling Club was extremely pleased and privileged to host the semi-final.

“The day started with torrential rain which left the green flooded and greenkeeper David Knott did a fantastic job to get the green playable. Both competing associations complimented the club on the green.”

The game turned out to be very one sided with Ayrshire South taking a commanding lead. Aberdeen Kincardine fought hard to get back in touch but Ayrshire side ran out 152-83 winners.
