It was back to school and back to rugby at Penicuik last week.
And the youngsters of Penicuik and West Linton got an added boost to their training when they were joined by Edinburgh stars Tim and Sep Visser, right. The Dutch wing pair delighted their young fans as they moved around all of the age groups offering help and advice.
Scotland Sevens captain and Midlothian development officer, Scott Riddell, said “It’s fantastic to see so many kids improving their rugby skills at Penicuik and having Tim and Sep around just inspires them all to work that little bit harder.”
The training visit was a prelude to development work within the Penicuik high schools. This will be supplemented with after-school club opportunities and rugby festivals arranged within Midlothian and also in conjunction with the Edinburgh schools development programs. The first of those festivals will be held at Penicuik Rugby Club on Friday, September 23.
