Teenage snowboarding sensation Vaila Chapman has returned from the slopes of the Cairngorms with a brace of trophies.

The 16-year-old, currently ranked number one on the UK women’s freestyle circuit, was placed first in the 16-plus age category.

She also took the prize for Best Overall Female in Scotland.

Vaila, of Farm Avenue in Poltonhall, has risen to the top of the sport in just five years.

Vaila is looking for sponsorship from local businesses in order to fund her equipment and overseas travel costs.
