Success for Hillend skiers

Hillend skier Bethany Leitch took gold in the novice category of the Snowsports Scotland winter schools alpine series.

Bethany (12), a pupil at St Peter’s Primary School in Edinburgh’s Morningside, trains at Midlothian Snowsports Centre.

She said: “I felt proud and happily surprised to win the race.”

Bethany fended off stiff competition from young skiers from across Scotland at the event held at the Nevis Range, Fort William.

Their was more success for Hillend skiers with Mya Roeling from Pentland Primary taking second in the novice female category, Pete Caughey from Loretto clinching second in the male novice, while Jamie Sandland and Guy Kellas came second and third in the male experienced.
