Star continued their impressive start to the season with a comfortable victory on Saturday at New Victoria Park to put them top of the league.

This was their third consecutive home game and the Midlothian side made it a third straight win following their impressive 2-0 victory over Musselburgh Athletic on Tuesday evening.

The visitors started brightly in a torrential downpour though, and Keiron Renton was called into action in the early stages before Star went ahead in the 15th minute when Sean Jamieson picked the ball up on the right and his defence-splitting pass found Paul Tansey running through on goal.

He kept his composure to round the keeper and roll the ball home from 10 yards to make it 1-0.
