Penicuik off-road motorcycle enthusiasts should establish a community club if they are serious about establishing a local track, it was suggested last week.
More than 30 people attended a special meeting, hosted by Penicuik and District Community Councillor Ian ‘Mose’ Hutchison, to gauge the interest for a local facility.
Advice was on hand from Melville Motor Club vice-chairman Campbell Chatham, Scottish Enduros chairman Charlie McKenzie and Iain Bell from the Newtongrange-based Rural and Urban Training Scheme (RUTS).
Mr Chatham told the Advertiser it was a “very successful” night with two men - Scot Campbell and Derek Agnew - volunteering to take forward the initiative.
