Temple athlete Freya Ross was on hand to congratulate Dalkeith High School pupils who took home the winners’ medals in this year’s Giant Heptathlon.
Freya Ross gave a talk on how to be a success in life before the teams, including runners-up Lasswade High School, tackled seven challenges.
The pupils competed for maximum points in sports including the shot put, the standing triple jump and running laps.
Freya, who competed in the marathon at the London Olympics and has run the qualifying time for this year’s Commonwealth Games, said: “I’m really pleased to be here today. I’m keen to see the challenges and present the medals afterwards.”
