Penicuik Archers have targeted a local charity for support.

More than £600 has been raised from raffles and the sale of refreshments at two competitions held so far this year.

Club chairman Martin Symonds and Jim McCrae handed over £600 to the Eskbank-based Mark Wright Project, which supports former servicemen and women and their families.

Martin said: “With the troops at Glencorse Barracks recently returned from Afganistan, it seems appropriate to get involved with the project. Once the club returns to indoor shooting over the winter months, we are hoping to get some of the project’s clients across for a couple of sessions.”
