A host of Scotland’s athletic talent were in the hot seat to answer questions from 120 children and young people from schools across the country last week, at a special event to celebrate the learning opportunities provided by the Commonwealth Games.

Penicuik High pupils were among those attending the Game on Scotland event.

Sammy Kinghorn, current European Champion Gold medallist T53 Wheelchair racer and Commonwealth Games finalist, appeared alongside Aileen Nelson from Team GB wheelchair curling, hockey centre forward Alisa Wylie and Team Scotland wrestlers Donna and Fiona Robertson at the event, which was led by young people who shared the learning they experienced in the context of the Commonwealth Games.

The Game on Scotland Celebration event, which took place at Glasgow City Chambers, saw the athletes take part in a number of activities during the course of the day including a question and answer session where they introduced themselves to the young people in the audience and shared their experience of preparing for and competing in the Games.
