Pride for Eskvale

Eskvale 3

Carnegie v 0

Eskvale’s men saw 2011 off in style with a 3-0 win over Dunfermline Carnegie’s fifth team on a windy Saturday afternoon in Dalkeith.

The conditions made it tough for both sides but it was a real moment of magic that opened the scoring.

Defensive midfielder John McCrossan shimmed past two defenders on the edge of the D before bounding inside and hitting an unstoppable shot past the stranded goalkeeper midway.

Carnegie almost fell two behind after a goalmouth scramble, where captain Steve Pride and Arron Bailey both should have done better to force the ball over the line.
