Reid scores winner for Dalkeith

After last week’s impressive opening league win, Dalkeith visited Trinity Accies, with coach Slight was still far from fielding his favoured XV, with a whole first choice back row missing and Walker and Young likely to be long term absentees.

However the team was buoyed by the return of the Hamilton brothers and Brady for their first games and Graham was available for second row duties.

The Dalkeith scrum creaked early on, but Whitson tidied things up for the visitors and after Trinity were caught offside, Clugston happily took the chance at goal and opened the scoring at 0-3. Dalkeith’s pack was looking sharper at the tackle area and the visitors more disciplined approach was gaining several penalties, but the greens failed to capitalise on their possession and Trinity clear.
