FOOTBALLER Lia Tweedie has insisted the memory of beating England will stay with her for the rest of her life.
The Beeslack High School pupil was part of the Scottish Girls’ U-15 squad which won the Lloyds TSB Scotland International Schoolgirls’ Challenge Cup.
The Hibs winger (14), admitted the joy was yet to fully sink in, but the double dose of victory has left her eager to taste more.
She said: “It was just really enjoyable to beat England twice. Everyone was really ecstatic with how the performance went.
“After the game, the coaches all said they were really proud of us. I thought I played quite well, I was switching from the left wing to the right throughout the game.
“I’ll be too old to play for the U-15s against next year so I’ll be looking to move up to the U-17s. It’ll be a bigger challenge, but hopefully I can do it.”
